In today's lesson, we conclude our series on the Atlantic Gospel Chapel Statement of Faith, covering the last two statements:

We Believe – the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ.

We Believe – Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, and every local church has the right, under Christ, to decide and govern its own affairs according to the Bible.

Some have stated that the Church IS God's plan for bringing the Gospel into the world; there is no plan B.  Therefore, the church is of critical importance in the Great Commission and it is important we have a firm understanding of what it is.

In today's lesson, we will consider both the universal church and the local church.  We will consider the Scriptural teaching of the church by answering the questions:

• What is the church?
• Who is in the church?
• What is Jesus' relationship with the church?
• What are the duties of the church, both universal and local?
• How is the church governed?
